Mary the Rescue Pup Gets Her First Bath Ever

Saved from a horrific fate in Korea, the Shiba Inu mix takes a warm bath before meeting potential adopters and finding her forever home.

In this video posted by PAWsitive, a group of seven Shiba Inu-mix pups were rescued from the meat-market trade in Korea and brought to San Francisco. One of them, Mary, is shown taking her first steps outside of a crate. Understandably tentative, it takes a few moments for her to muster the courage to go beyond her confines, but she does it and never looks back.

Soon, she receives a warm bath — very likely the first she’s ever experienced in her short life — and her tiny body is massaged with soap by a caring professional. With tender hands, Mary is toweled dry and brushed before her foster mom arrives to scoop her up.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the sweet and lovable Mary was adopted within just three short weeks. Now she has an entire life of love to look forward to –- hopefully with plenty of fetch and belly rubs!
