There’s nothing quite like watching a dog in his element. For rescue pup and award-winning trick dog Bamboo, that means skateboarding the sunny streets of Southern California. It’s a sight to see, and this recent YouTube video of Bamboo doing his thing on the way to the Del Mar Dog Beach will put a smile on any dog lover’s face.

Featuring a little less than two minutes of the mixed-breed careening past parks and shops and palm trees along the way, the footage makes dog-boarding look utterly easy. The pooch propels himself forward by pushing off the concrete with his hind legs before he takes turns with total confidence. Once he arrives at his play spot for the moment, Bamboo leaps off the sand and into the air to catch a flying Frisbee. Viewers also get to see the playful pup roll over and crawl on the wet sand – so much more than a typical day at the beach!

Mike Bolaris adopted the sporty mutt from labradorsandfriends.org, and training him was apparently super simple. The pup showed an interest whenever Bolaris would skate, and a few treats and some encouragement was all it took to get those four paws on board.
